2024 - 2025 Dues

Distillers & Independent Brands:

$1 per case based on estimated annual 6-pk cases produced

To calculate dues, multiply estimated annual production of 4.5L cases x $1

For example, (500) 4.5L cases produced x $1 = $500 for 2024 annual dues.

California Regional Guilds and/or ACSA members, are offered a 10% dues discount.

To calculate the discount, multiply 0.1 x Total Dues.

Amount Due = Total Dues minus Discount (if applicable)

Minimum Dues: $250 | Maximum Dues: $5,000

WHO CAN BE A MEMBER?

Distilled Spirits Producers:

A distilling organization that produces a distilled product at a facility in California.

  • Voting members must:

    1. Own a valid DSP

    2. Produce fewer than 750,001 proof gallons removed from bond (combined annual production from all sources)

    3. No more than 50% of the DSP is owned (directly or indirectly) by a producer of distilled spirits whose combined annual production of distilled spirits from all sources exceeds 750,000 proof gallons removed from bond.

  • License Types include:

    • Type 3

    • Type 4

    • Type 7

    • Type 24

    • Type 74

  • Independent/Contract Brands:

    To ensure alignment with CDA’s mission, the membership criteria for independent spirits brands include:

    1. California-Based Business

      • The brand must be headquartered in California or have significant business operations within the state.

    2. Commitment to California Distilling

      • Brands should demonstrate a commitment to supporting California’s distilling community, including sourcing from or working with California-based distillers whenever possible.

    3. Compliance with State Laws

      • Members must comply with all California state alcohol production, distribution, and marketing laws.

    4. Active Engagement

      • Members are expected to participate in CDA initiatives, such as legislative advocacy efforts, industry events, or promotional campaigns.

    5. Membership Dues

      • Pay annual membership dues at a level appropriate for contract brands, reflecting their role and impact within the industry.

    6. Transparency

      • Brands should clearly disclose their production arrangements (e.g., contract distilled) to consumers, ensuring alignment with CDA’s commitment to authenticity and quality in the spirits market.
